Bioprocess Engineer – Downstream 

Urgent requirement for a Bioprocess engineer with extensive manufacturing experience for a leading Pharmaceutical and healthcare company. Our client employs over 20,000 people worldwide and operates in over 20 countries.

This position will be part of our client’s process and validation department reporting to the Director of engineering.

You will be part of a team responsible for:

1. Participate in facility and process design of a multi=product biopharmaceutical manufacturing platform.
2. Play a role in Start-up and Commissioning of a biotech plant.
3. Play a leading role in developing and predicting processing strategies and throughputs for each product for the plant.  
4. Day –to- day engineering support to downstream manufacturing operations. 
5. Identifying equipment improvements needed for the facility to improve productivity and throughput. 
6. Facilitate the introduction of new products with new equipment  and ensuring the site stays current with the most updated processes and equipment trends.

You must be a senior process engineer with extensive downstream experience of working within a biotec facility as this is a position that you must be able to hit the ground running and understand the standards and protocols associated with the market.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

1. Degree qualified in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering.
2. Experience in Commissioning of a mammalian cell-based biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant or in the design of that plant.
3. Knowledge of the downstream biopharmaceutical operations involved with bioreactor design and control, SIP/CIP and filtration.
4. Design experience of mammalian cell-based manufacturing facilities.
5. Operations experience in purification or related bioprocess manufacturing.
6. Experience in an established biotech production facility.

You must be a senior process engineer with extensive experience of working within a Biotech facility pharmaceutical field as this is a position that you must be able to hit the ground running and understand the standards and protocols associated with the market. A prerequisite for applying for this role is that you have mammalian cell or e-coli platform manufacturing experience.
